Troubleshooting & FAQ

Fix common Windrose server problems on HypeServ — failed starts and connection issues.

Quick fixes for the most common Windrose server issues. If none of these solve it, open a ticket and support will help.

Server won't start after a game update

Windrose is actively developed, and updates can change the server files.

Open the Console tab and read the last lines — they usually name the problem.
Restart the server so it pulls the latest server files.
If it still fails, restore a recent backup from the Backups tab.

Always stop the server before editing any config files, then start it again. Editing while running can cause changes to be lost on shutdown.

Confirm the server status is running in the panel.
Double‑check the address players use: IP:Port (or subdomain:Port).
Have crew members join the dedicated server directly rather than a host's session.
Verify the server's port is open under the Ports tab — see the Ports guide.

A crash can lose the last few minutes of progress.
Use the Backups tab to restore a known‑good save.
Restart on a schedule (panel Scheduler) to reduce the chance of a bad shutdown.
